Heading to Charleston soon to plan your dream Lowcountry wedding?\u00a0 We may be biased, but we think it\u2019s the very best city for weddings, in large part because it offers so much to tourists and locals alike. <\/span>We hope you\u2019ll make Dodeline a stop to design personalized wedding stationery to compliment your wedding here.\u00a0 With that in mind, we thought we\u2019d share a few stops to make along the way for the perfect day in Charleston!<\/span><\/p>\n

Start Your Day in Downtown Charleston<\/b><\/h2>\n

Most people visiting the area choose to stay downtown or on the beach.\u00a0 You really can\u2019t go wrong in Charleston!\u00a0 If you\u2019re going for a luxurious experience, Charleston Place, Hotel Bennett, and the Dewberry are some of our favorites among the larger hotels, but there are also many more boutique options and chain hotels if you like to book with points (we do too!).<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s for breakfast?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Again, we are spoiled for choice in Charleston for incredible dining options.\u00a0 Downtown, we love Millers All Day, Callie\u2019s Hot Little Biscuit, and Bodega for great breakfast options.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take a Stroll<\/b><\/h2>\n

Some of the prettiest streets in Charleston are in an area known as \u201cSouth of Broad [Street]\u201d.\u00a0 You\u2019ll find grand historic mansions, cobblestone streets, centuries old churches, Rainbow Row and more — all iconic Charleston landmarks that are often featured on our personalized wedding stationery.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a great part of town to wander around and end up at White Point Gardens at the tip of the peninsula.\u00a0 It\u2019s a beautiful park full of incredible oak trees overlooking the harbor.\u00a0 In fact, it\u2019s a great spot to tie the knot if you are interested in a smaller, low key ceremony!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hop over the bridge<\/b><\/h2>\n

From here, you can catch a ride or grab your car and take a ride over the Ravenel Bridge into Mount Pleasant.\u00a0 Just a short ride down Highway 17 will land you at our office, Dodeline Design, to get to work on your save the dates, wedding invitations, custom dog napkins and whatever other personalized wedding stationery might be on your list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lunch and Exploring<\/b><\/h2>\n

After we\u2019ve gone through all the ins and outs of wedding paper, it\u2019s a great time for lunch and exploring.\u00a0 Our studio is next door to local favorite Five Loaves Caf\u00e9, so you can walk next door and get a delicious soup, salad or sandwich.\u00a0 Our favorite is the Caesar salad and tomato soup!<\/span><\/p>\n

While you\u2019re in Mount Pleasant, there are several great things to see and do:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Pop up to Boone Hall for beautiful scenery and important history lessons about the area<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Head a little further East over to Isle of Palms or Sullivan\u2019s Island for a beach walk<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Check out Old Mount Pleasant and the shops of Pitt Street.\u00a0 Don\u2019t miss the Pitt Street Bridge for more beautiful harbor views!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Back to the Peninsula<\/b><\/h2>\n

    I don\u2019t know about you, but I\u2019m a big fan of an afternoon nap while I\u2019m on vacation, so this seems like the perfect time for one back at your hotel.\u00a0 That way you can rest up for more of the fun that downtown has to offer!<\/span><\/p>\n

    Hopefully, you\u2019ve made reservations before your trip, as dinner at the best spots in Charleston (especially on the weekends) can be booked up many weeks in advance.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Dinner & Drinks<\/b><\/h2>\n

    Pre-dinner drinks is always a fun idea, and there are quite a few rooftops and other spots to check out in Charleston.\u00a0 The rooftops at Hotel Bennett and the Dewberry are particular favorites for fun drinks and views.<\/span><\/p>\n

    For dinner, again, the options are endless here.\u00a0 As locals, we still haven\u2019t been to them all and we probably never will!\u00a0 But here are some particular favorites to consider:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Chez Nous <\/b>\u2013 a limited menu that varies daily, very intimate dining experience<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Verns<\/b> \u2013 absolutely delicious, our favorite was the wagyu beef special<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Bistronomy by Nico<\/b> \u2013 all around excellent food, and they also serve brunch, so add that to the breakfast consideration!<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Husk<\/b> \u2013 now a longtime Charleston favorite \u2013 if you missed getting a reservation, they do also have the bar. They are famous for their burger!<\/span><\/li>\n
    • FIG<\/b> has been setting the standard for fine dining in Charleston for 20+ years now.\u00a0 It\u2019s a hard one to get a reservation for, so plan ahead!<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Rodney Scotts BBQ<\/b> \u2013 you\u2019ve probably seen or heard about Rodney Scott if you watch anything on the Food Network.\u00a0 He has a fast casual spot on the upper end of King Street that\u2019s perfect if you\u2019re looking for a more lowkey dinner or lunch option.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Chubby Fish<\/b> \u2013 if you drive down Coming Street around 4 \u2013 5pm, you\u2019ll see a long line and wonder what that\u2019s about.\u00a0 Chubby Fish doesn\u2019t take reservations, so people line up daily to get to try this restaurant\u2019s fare.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dessert, anyone?<\/b><\/h2>\n

      Charleston also has plenty of yummy ice cream stops for an after dinner treat, as well as a few dessert cafes like Carmellas, Honeysuckle Rose, and Kaminskys on Market Street.\u00a0 And of course, the nightlife goes into the wee hours on King Street if that\u2019s more your speed.<\/span><\/p>\n
